2026 LSU/LPMA Winter Institute

JANUARY 6,7,8, & 9 2026
Held on four dates during January, this is a Termite program that is 3 ½ days. The text book is not included in the registration fee it is an option. This program is a practical, hands-on laboratory setting with personal, one-on-one instruction. A full range of topics is covered in the 3 day sessions, including: Insect ID and Biology * Inspection and Application Techniques * State and Federal Laws * Rules and Regulations * Vertebrate Control Workshops * Legal Issues * Wood-Destroying Insects * Cockroach Control Lab * Pesticide Toxicology and Labeling * Bed Bugs Much More!
Institute attendance is limited to the first 20 paid registrants. – Class Materials are provided to each participant
Instructors
Staff faculty from the LSU Department of Entomology and the Cooperative Extension Service, representatives from the Louisiana Department of Agriculture & Forestry and the Pest Control Industry.
Location
LSU Life Sciences Building, Room 110 across from the Student Union off Highland Road.
Cost
Early Registration cost for the four-session institute is $325.00 per person before December 5th, 2025. After December 5th Registration is $375.00. Last Day to register is December 19th.

Meals, Accommodations & Parking
Lunch is available at the Student Union or at a number of nearby off-campus restaurants. Overnight accommodations are available at nearby off-campus hotels. Parking may or may not be provided. A map of the campus will be provided contact LPMA for information.
Certificate of Accomplishment
A certificate of accomplishment will be awarded to each person who completes the Institute. A presentation of the certificate will be made available on the last day of class. For all in attendance and who successfully completes the program. Licensees and Technicians may receive Recertification Credit by attending the entire program. This program is an approved Comprehensive Termite Program.

Trumans Guide (7th Edition) – Order in advance
Students will compile a reference manual from the notes taken or materials distributed during the course of the sessions. In addition, each participant may purchase a copy of Truman’s Scientific Guide to Pest Control Operations, seventh edition for $130.00 ( Highly Recommended)
